What Happens if I Miss My Traffic Court Date?
Suppose you have missed your traffic court date in North Carolina. In that case, it’s essential that you handle your situation immediately before the clerks enter a “Failure to Appear.” A Failure to Appear automatically adds $200 to your traffic violation citation.
If your traffic citation was a criminal charge, such as careless, reckless, or 15 MPH over the speed limit, you could receive an order for arrest. Law enforcement can come to pick you up once they receive the paperwork.
If you do not handle this immediately, your license can be suspended by the DMV. To reinstate your license, you will have to pay a fee.
The McGee Law Firm assists clients in cleaning up their driving records and getting their license back.
A majority of what we handle stems from multiple Failures to Appear where tickets were disregarded. Ultimately their license became suspended or revoked by the DMV.
